I'm Writing Again!

HELLO to anyone who’s still subscribed to this old-timey blog, or who comes across it some other way.

It’s been ages since I last posted here, and there’s a reason for that.

My writing is now happening on Substack.

If you like to dig into things and enjoy longform writing as a nice change from pithy quips on social media, please head over to my Keto Without the Crazy Substack.

Like this blog was back in the day, my Substack is a mix of physiology and biochemistry relevant to keto & low-carb diets, mindset tips to help you stay consistent, and of course, the occasional rant, all with what I hope is my characteristic sanity and down-to-earthness, which, if I do say so myself, is needed now more than ever. (Two recent rants include Stop Following People Who Scare the Crap Out of You and Keto & Carnivore Have a Toxic Influencer Problem.)

I have lots of topics queued up for future posts, such as:

  • The difference between burning fat and being in ketosis. (They’re not the same thing!)

  • Keto and eating disorders: Can a way of eating that specifically restricts certain foods actually help improve conditions related to restricting food? Research so far says yes, at least for some people. (In the meantime, here’s a post that offers a different perspective on restriction: “Keto is Restrictive” – Dumb Things People Say About Keto.)

  • Hair loss: The role of weight loss, undereating, unrecognized nutrient deficiencies, and why biotin and collagen supplements are usually underwhelming.

  • What should your ketone level be — and does it even matter? If you’re feeling a bit impatient and don’t want to wait for that post to be written and published, check out this video in the meantime: What Should Your Ketone Level Be?

…and lots more!

Have requests for topics you’d like me to cover? I’m open to suggestions!

Leave a comment on this post, on one of my Substacks, or contact me directly here.

I look forward to “seeing” you on Substack. Writing is still my first love, and it feels good to be getting back to it.
