I guess just normal amounts of fat in cooking will be fine. I just read your dec 28 2016 post on "stop following..." that explains it really well. I Will just fo LCD as i now get that you dont need the high fat part for weight loss. My husband has bit more belly fat to lose so if i ease off on the cream n coconut cream it might be helpful and just do 75-100g net carb for the time being.
One thing i realized after tracking macros for 2wks is that we are not taking enough protein especially my husband. He was doing spinach berry apple smoothie (he juiced at work) for lunch. Breakfast was 2 eggs/1toast and latte (no sugar). So i told him that no way he can get his remaining protein needs at dinner no matter what i cook and to add some protein at lunch somehow with greek yogurt and nuts.

Thanks for the info. Now i can move on to just doing LCD. All i want is insulin regulation and fat loss to get out pre diabetic state. Have a good weekendAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4833628955058077617.post-27923133666760347862017-02-09T16:00:25.959-05:002017-02-09T16:00:25.959-05:00Hi there,
So, it depends on what the situation is....Hi there,
So, it depends on what the situation is. For someone who has a lot of body fat to lose, they might want to focus on the low carb aspect but not necessarily add A LOT of *extra* fat to things. It *is* possible to actually gain weight/fat on a low carb diet if you are eating more fat than your body needs. The more fat on your plate, the less your body needs to tap into its stored fat for fuel. BUT! This doesn't mean this person would follow a low fat diet. It just means that they don't have to go out of their way to reach some ridiculous "ketogenic ratio" of like 70-80% fat, or use bulletproof coffee, fat bombs, etc. Look at how Dr. Ted Naiman explains it: https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7qznEKHf8TU/WDJEQ1-EqBI/AAAAAAAADQA/feuPVYRjgbwvB-_IpZqXCu-r-47g8Lo0ACLcB/s320/Naiman%2B2.jpg

So yes, if someone is eating inordinate amounts of extra fat, it's possible that it will get stored. But I cannot tell you what that amount would be. It'll be different for everyone. One ques...Yes the extra co-q is definitely helping. One question about LCHF.. so I completely understand that less carb; less insulin; less fat storage explanation. I am already seeing result and my personal limit is 100g net carb which is really not that low but being south indian this is low in comparison to our normal diet. So yeah I am fully on board. But my kind of on the fence hubbie is wondering what happens to the higher fat that you eat in LCHF diet. Wont it get stored? As in if one is already trying to burn ones existing stored fat; will eating a high fat (low carb) mean the newly eaten fat is burned not the stored fat? Any of your posts or others sites that you could direct me to answer this. Kind of wish I could take a day off to read all the rest of your post! or I could listen to it while am working! Am on statin for last 8 yrs. took 100mg CoQ/dy with it as well as I knew about CoQ. Yet last couple of months when I started LCHF and losing some tummy fat (am a skinny fat type; so not much weight to lose)I found I was getting muscle catch/pain easily that wasnt resolving with stretches and massages. After reading this statin post; a light bulb went off in my brain; I upped my CoQ to 200 mg (2X a day) for a two days and already feeling so much better. Body feeling so much calmer and not stressed. I probably needed more CoQ that I was taking. Now I Will have to think about whether I should continue statin or not I guess.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4833628955058077617.post-31131310694782254212016-02-04T14:57:02.800-05:002016-02-04T14:57:02.800-05:00Great post! thanks. Well, whatever good intentions they had entering med school was probably long lost by the time they start practicing. After 4 yrs med school (cirirculum decided by big pharma), 1-7 residency (again drugs are the cure), $250K in debt, starting their careers in their prime, maybe starting a family also, who would have time to research or know anything outside what they have just learned? Doctors are just soldiers for the pharmaceutical industry. Drug reps are foot soldiers, doctors are graded up to generals depending on their specialty, I guess oncologist on top or surgeons. Framingham/MRFIT and lots of other gold-seal studies suggest a very slight tendency in people under 50 but the reverse for people over 50. Natural LDL cholesterol is protective and you are MUCH better having high cholesterol levels than lower in old age. Most people admitted to cardiac wards have low or normal cholesterol, ie 75%. LDL when oxidized is a different story as oxidized LDL has receptors on the endothelium which don't exist for non oxidized LDL. Oxidation of LDL seems to be a phenomenon associated with high triglycerides and low HDL which may be diet derived, ie high refined carb input. LDL in its natural form has been around forever but only very recently associated with CHD, in fact heart attacks were virtually unknown prior to the early 1900s. That stuff destroyed her memory and her muscles. Doctors just kept writing it off as old age, but you'll never convince me of that. I've been on this soapbox ever since, and have purchased several books on the subject. And the list of books exposing statins and the whole cholesterol myth is getting longer every day. Yes cholesterol is a important part of our biochemistry, thats a given but its when you have to much of a particular type is when you block your arteries and its statins that block this type.
If you look at recorded blood plasma levels over the last 40 yrs in the US. They have increased in line with the increase in cardiac mortality and our shift in poor diet. Also its so easy to prove that ldl chol is a killer all cadavers in the US over 50 yrs of age have some such deposits.
